Counselling is the process whereby the counsellor engages with their client with the sole purpose of helping that person to change their life, or their perspective of their life, so that they experience a positive change in their emotional state. There are different types of counselling. These include Trauma Counselling, Bereavement Counselling and Relationship Counselling.

Counselling sessions are normally 40 to 90 minutes long. The first session consists of completing the necessary documentation, exploring the reasons for you seeking counselling and agreeing the way forward. You will probably receive some 'homework' to do after the first session.

The desired results of the counselling sessions are decided jointly in advance.
