About the Workshop Stress is a necessary part of life that, if it exists in the right amount, will motivate a person to be productive. To much and it becomes distress which has a very negative impact on productivity. A person’s level of stress is normally related to their ability to manage different aspects of their lives and to their perspective of demanding situations. The purpose of the workshop is to teach delegates, using a variety of auditory, kinesthetic (touch) and visual exercises, how to defuse personal distress and how to develop their own resilience against future distress. The methodology used encourages an interest in the subject of personal distress and creates a desire in delegates to learn how to manage their own levels of stress so that they can remain productive. The workshop methodology is rooted in the assumptions of Andragogy, or Adult Learning Theory, that adults need to know why they should learn something, need to direct their own learning, be able to share their personal experiences and can recognise the value of the information being applied in their own lives. Target Audience The workshop is ideal for adults who have a good command of the English language. Workshop Outline The workshop consists of 4 modules, each requiring one-and-a-half hours to complete. The modules are as follows: - Clarifying current knowledge and understanding stress and its effects on us
- Self-evaluation of personal stress and stressors
